Chapter 1

In The Imaginary Land of One's Birth

Watch out for the ambition of women; it knows no bounds and is reckless. Reckless!

I fear love loss. When I most felt the unifying force of love and gave that over to another person, why was I rebuffed? Why does the best instinct raise up in people the worst thoughts?"

Reading about science always generates characters in me. I feel free moving through it; not that the stuff frees but I feel free to travel value-free among it.

I'm always eulogizing, always seeing my future in the past tense. It's a horrible habit.

The personality reflects the battles of the generation and the time. The spirit reflects the battles of eternity. The times? It is a swirl of free information floating around that a person is breathing in because he is curious about many things.
