Chapter 1

In The Imaginary Land of One's Birth

"Berkeley had its cults. It had its wild wings of the political spectrum. It had its communists, fascists, and fundamentalists. They all played with gusto out in the streets and in the cafes of Berkeley. The democratic citzen was to be torn down because normalcy itself was to be torn down. There was no normalcy, only freaky gestures of those who were about to die. "Everything from the ground up is a lie, check it out."
