A nightmare puts the poet at
the center of an imaginative world
seeking victims. They wait
at every step, every interval
that he is fortunate to pause.
Driven insane by the lack of drama in
their lives, they can be seen by the
poisonous lake lapping like dogs at the
edge of the waters, giving them
nightmares they play out during the
day, ruining the poet and his fine thoughts.
