LAMENTATIONS

by David Eide

XXXXIV     The poet readies himself for
long and ;measurable moments with the
bard soul and his eternal creations that
seem to tumble self-made from the
mouths of ancient mountains. He brings us
wholeness epherma of the night sea
journey that bursts on the day until it is a
chain of memories telling us the sad tale of
when men mounted on the engines of
heaven and found our distant planet where
only joy rules.
My voice does want to speak with the
amplitude of  four hundred revolutions
around the same sad planet, the same
drowning men, the same howls from the
underworld and yet- the call to make it
new! Speak through the time that enters
the bard mind-speak to friends, speak to
family- find a place for everything that
occurs that is important to the human
being.
