Chapter 1

Yes, the universe is “peopled” if that’s the word. It would be ridiculous to chronicle it all. The imagination of an ordinary guy can link with some of the variety. There was not a transcendent form that observed Earth and all of that. The “peopling” of the universe had as much comedy as gravitas. I’m confident that when people on Earth understand this, if they don’t already, the shock will wear off quickly, the novelty will disintegrate and many will say, “oh of course, I knew it all along.” It is best to meet the peopling of the universe wordlessly. The best attitude is patience since, once this is found out, humankind will have to find the ways and means of connecting with these people’s. Their insatiable curiosity will not allow for any other way. There will be long and tiring arguments in world governments about how many resources can be allocated to the connection. In times of scarcity this will be heard: ‘If we can’t help our own species on this planet, how can we help anyone else not on this planet?” And during times of abundance they will say, “We must give ourselves a great challenge and reach for our brothers and sisters who, too, are dependent on a star.” Eras will pass when there is no connection and it will only be known through scuttlebutt, myth, popular songs and TV shows. Outliers and avant-garde types will perform on behalf of the strangers in the cosmos and try to imagine and act out their personalities. People will scoff and deny. Generations will die not knowing and not connecting. But then, the day will arrive.

I interacted with many of them and came away with delight and laughter. However that’s like saying I’ve been to Hyderabad therefore I know all people who live in India. I could know all the people in Hyderabad but it would only be a fraction of possible persons to know. I might extrapolate from the meet-ups in Hyderabad and come to conclusions about certain characteristics in the nation of India but, in reality, it would be a shallow and meager one. The ones who say, “everyone is alike in every place and at every time,” think they are correct and clever but they are quite wrong. And by saying that they give ammunition to ambitious, evil types who would like nothing better than to control human beings. Now if people go to Hyderabad in order to “get used to” the strangeness of others so that all strangeness can be met head on, then that is something else.
