White-Binder Poems

By David Eide

==========================

One man's thought is another man's repression.

==========================

Justice is beauty laid at the feet of the poorest man.
The illuminated thought lasted five full hours of eternity
just in time for the ungainly woman to find her grace.

A witness who disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Two gravely ill dreams meeting at nightfall in the
      crevice of monstrous hills;

Knowledge of all extinct animals.
Lusty clouds at eye-level.
Moronic characters driving old cars on streets
       paved in gold.
Knowledge of the sweetest story never yet told.

A red moon appears behind the signs of
  defunct department stores.
